Hello and welcome! I am so glad you are here.
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I love stories. From the time I could toddle around with a book under my arm, I was never without them. And not just any story would do; like as Sam Gamgee once said, I wanted “the ones that really mattered.” Stories let me see myself in the struggles and victories of others. If Sir George could slay the dragon, then maybe I could, too.
I began writing as a young girl and never stopped. Stories called to me and helped me understand the world in a way that felt real. For indeed, the world can be a hard place to understand. While I was still a teen, I began doing volunteer outreach with individuals in difficult situations. My experiences with the harsh inequalities in life not only fostered my love of psychology but also my love of complex stories that ask difficult questions. I wanted to see the darkness of the world reflected in my literature…then reach for a light.
I now hold a masters degree in mental health counseling and a specialist degree in education from the University of Florida. I work full time as a writer and am the author of over a dozen articles as well as freelance work. I am currently finishing my debut novel, The Sacrifice. It is a slow burn, enemies-to-lovers, dark fairy tale retelling focused on generational trauma, personal healing, and the power of love in an imperfect world.
I currently live in South Carolina with my best friend and two precious little munchkins. (Technically, there’s also a little gremlin–better known as a papillon dog–that lives with us too. Most days, if he hasn’t left poo on my floor and I allow him to sleep in my room, we manage to tolerate each other.)
